Description
American, mid-19th century. A shelf clock by Marshall & Adams (Seneca Falls, NY) in mahogany, having thirty-hour two-weight time and strike woodworks movement with bell chime, interior paper label, and the dial painted wood. The wooden case having molded cornice, and two glass panel doors with mirror on lower door; ht. 33.5, wd. 20, dp. 6.5 in.Â
Provenance: Property from the Estate of John H. Ricks, Prospect, KY
Condition
Repair to top right corner and to section of wood outside lower right hinge on top door. Some spots of silver loss to mirror, and sticker residue on base. Wear to latch on lower door. Numbers on face probably repainted, and craquelure to paint. Thin cracks around top door, and glass probably replaced.
