New World, Mexico, ca. 19th century CE. A hand-carved wooden santo depicting the Virgin and Christ Child enthroned with the infant St. John standing by the seated Mother of God and gesturing toward the baby Jesus, the piece arranged in a lovely pyramidal composition inspired by Renaissance works of Leonardo da Vinci and Rafael. Size: 4.375" W x 8.625" H (11.1 cm x 21.9 cm)
