Lans ape Painting signed SuNTER dated 1881, Purchased by Consigner from Timothy R. Doyle, Doyle Antiques, Albany NY. Represented as Hudson River School artist landscape oil on canvas, ornately layered and guilted carved frame. Frames measures approx 35 inches high by 46 inches wide. Painted measures approx 24 1/2 by 39 1/2. Canvas appears in good condition as does frame with slight wear. Harry Sunter is one of the most accomplished artists to have worked in the Finger Lakes around Auburn, NY in the late 19th century. He exhibited in the National Academy of Design and at the Pennsylvania academy.
