The edition contains many black and white illustrations of Hopper's paintings, including his famous works Night-Hawks and Automat, and some printed text including a chronology. Signed and inscribed by Hopper in bold blue fountain pen ink to the frontispiece beneath a colour illustration of his painting The Martha McKeen of Wellfleet.
