Description
A pair of very early New England baggage tags. They are made of a soft metal that could be lead or sometimes called German Silver in the 1850s catalogs. I have a pre-Civil War catalog with this type of tag in it. I have never seen one that could be port 1870. They have a raised edge and they are quite a bit thicker than the brass tags. The second one needs more research: (1) Concord Railroad #108 with custom presentation, shop mark on reverse of G. A. Boielullet (I think that's the name) - some tags were re-used as watch fobs, that's why it has a name (2) C&S RR with 1259 and Robbins hallmark on reverse - I don't know what the C&S is other than Charleston & Savannah
