Description
These Peter Gray single red lens lamps were probably used as tender lamps on old steam locomotives. They are often marked for the Boston & Maine or Concord & Montreal Railroads. That dates them to the 1890s. The door has a pin & hinge mechanism. It has a reflector but no pot and burner. The single lens is 6" in diameter. For some reason these lamps often have the heavy hook on the bail. They always have 2 tie down rings on the sides. The B&M RR marking is near the vent holes. There are some dings and dents and the Peter Gray oval logo is under the reflector on the door.
