Description

I didn't even know that this badge existed until it was consigned. A spectacular New England railroad that was under Boston & Maine Railroad control for much of its existence. The badge is a "notch top" (New Haven) style with the M&WRRR initials across the top and a line and then CONDUCTOR in fancy letting. These fancy letters in the occupation is an indicator of WWI or earlier use. Note the corners on the "C", "O" and "U". There is some wear from use on a hat. The back shows very little if any wear. There is no maker's hallmark. This badge is from a prominent New England collection and that consignor has several rare badges in this auction.
