Description
Both of these framed photographs are from locomotives built by the Taunton Locomotive Manufacturing Company for the Boston & Providence Railroad. The blue hue I think is called a Cyanotype. Both have identical frames that measure 17" by 14". The visible portion is 14" by 10". Because of photo glare on the glass, the pictures do not do justice to how nice these photographs are. Both have a 4-4-0 wheel arrangement. (1) David B. Standish: 16x24 cylinders, 62 1/2" diameter drivers, 52,000 lb. on drivers, 82,880 total weight (2) Fred Paine: 17x24 cylinders, 67 1/2" diameter drivers, 56,860 lb. on drivers, 87,600 total weight.
