This Unger Brothers Belt Buckle is intertwined with flowing papyrus flowers and leaves. The top and the bottom of the buckle is decorated with a spread out winged beetle. Classic Egyptian Revival and Art Nouveau. It is a two tined buckle. The detail is so crisp I doubt it was ever used. It weighs 2 troy oz. It is 3 1/4" x 2 3/4". The bottom is inscribed Sterling with the Unger Brothers hallmark. The Unger Bros. were one of the most creative and premier manufacturers of Art Nouveau sterling silver items in the United States.
