Description
Portrait of a Young Blonde Boy, oil on canvas, signed verso and inscribed "This picture was begun by me and done over by Master W. Chase to show me how when I was studying at his studio at 333 Fourth Ave, New York in 1912-13, Harriet V.C. Ogden". Housed in modern faux mahogany frame with linen liner, OS: 24 3/4" x 20 3/4", SS: 19 1/2" x 15 1/2". Good condition.
Chase was one of the greatest American painters of the era, and a well-known teacher. Harriet Ogden was later the author of "Then Came Molly", 1922 & "The Sable Cloud", 1923, both 'Social Realist' novels.
