China, late Ming to Qing Dynasty, 16th to 18th century. Rare wooden carving of a Janus-headed human spirit in a pendant form. Asian features and long extended tongue with bamboo twigs inserted into each end. A rare and strange carving! Size: 5.5" L x 2.875" H (14 cm x 7.3 cm)
Provenance: Ex-private Palm Beach, Florida collection, acquired between 1980 and 1990.
