James Caswell Davis (American, 1930-2016), Correia Art Glass paperweight, 1988 CE. A stunning Correia art glass paperweight of a mesmerizing optical pattern in hues of cobalt blue, teal green, white, and rainbow irridescent striations set within a translucent stylized geometric-shape created by James Caswell (engraved with Mr. Caswell's signature and dated "Correia - Jim Caswell - 1988" on one side). In addition to amassing the important Historia Collection of Spanish Colonial art, folk art, Mexican retablos and ex-votos, santos, paintings, dance masks, ceramics, textiles, ethnographic art, and much more, James Caswell worked for over twenty years as a studio artist in several media. He was an artist-in-residence at Sevres, the French National Porcelain Works, where several of his pieces were put into production - and he also designed exceptional pieces for Correia Art Glass of Santa Monica, California, founded in 1973 by the reknowned glass artist Steven V.
