Burmese School, first quarter of 20th century. "View of Schwedagon Pagoda"-1917, watercolor on paper, signed and dated lower left "Ma Ba Ohn 1917". Watercolor painting depicting a view of Schwedagon Pagoda, also known as Scwedagon Zedi Daw or the Great Dagon Pagoda or the Gold Pagoda in prsent day Yangon, Myanmar with figures on street visiting market or vendor stalls amid trees with view of significant architectural and religious site in background. Framed approximately 23.125" x 17.4".
Condition
Examined out of frame. Smudge in sky. Pinholes to corner. Toning to edges. Minor foxing. Minor water staining - likely from creation. Several paint splatters in sky, likely from creation. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
