Description
British School, "The Sea Wolf" - mid to late 19th century, bronze, unsigned. A satirical tabletop sculpture depicting Admiral Lord Thomas Cochrane of the British Royal Navy, known as the "Sea Wolf" during the Napoleonic Wars, standing on the back of the Lion of France, depicted as a reptilian creature, and firing a canon out of its hindquarters. Approximate height 7", width 6", depth 3.75".
