A very nice Near Eastern terracotta figure of Astarte, c. 1200 – 1000 BC, with columnar body and lightly flared foot, the face is bird-like with large coffee-bean eyes and angular nose, hair is indicated at the sides of the face and the back of the head. The figure wears a double row beaded collar and the short stylized arms extend horizontally from the body. with double collar and hair framing face, with bird-like features, H: 4 7/8 in (12.5cm).
