Native American, Plains Indians, ca. first half of 20th century CE. A colorful beaded knife sheath adorned with fabulous designs, lane-stitched with sinew and glass beads of turquoise blue, white, and red on a yellow ground, the sheath body, fringe trim, and looped strap made of rawhide. A lovely example with an intriguing decorative program. Size: sheath body 5.25" L x 1.5" W (13.3 cm x 3.8 cm); strap 18" L (45.7 cm)
