Description
An interestingly illuminated scene of a fortune teller with two customers. From a 48 print series 1938-43 (plus 24 scenes done 1954-58)--all depicting traditional Showa-era occupations.
Sanzo Wada (1883-1967) was a Japanese painter and costume designer who won the Academy Award for Costume Design for his work on the jidaigeki film Gate of Hell.
