Japanese, 20th century. A group of three lacquered items including a pair of matching square trays in black adorned with blossoming branches in makie and mother of pearl inlay with nashiji background and a rectangular kakazaiku (cherry bark) box with lacquered decoration of bird on branch; tray lg. 12, wd. 12 in. (each), box lg. 9.5, wd. 3, ht. 2 in.

Condition
Some wear to trays, especially at corners. Cherry bark box with damage from shrinking (see photos). Stacking box on stand with general wear with some minor losses to inlay.
