Description
East Asia, China, ca. 19th century CE. A brightly colored, mold-made porcelain duck, perhaps meant to be a runner duck based on its upright stance. The duck's body is a brilliant blue color, with pale yellow feet and bill, standing on a speckled purple hollow base. Charming porcelain animals like this one were exported from China to the European market, where the rising middle class was eager to decorate their homes with "exotic goods" from the East. Size: 4.25" L x 3.2" W x 6" H (10.8 cm x 8.1 cm x 15.2 cm)
