Scarce Small-Sized Multi-Glazed Redware Flowerpot, attributed to S. Bell & Sons, Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid pot with flared rim and attached saucer, both with coggled edges, the surface decorated with streaks of copper and manganese over a slip-coated ground. This example is the smallest multi-glazed flowerpot we have ever offered. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a sixty-year private collection. Wear and a few glaze flakes to flowerpot rim. Wear and small, shallow chips to saucer, including a possible 1" x 3/8" reglued piece to saucer rim. Typical in-use residue to interior rim area. H 4 3/8".
