Description
Southeast Asia, Laos, Neolithic period, ca. 100 BCE. A group of four hand-carved and highly polished stone tools - two shouldered adzes/hoes and two hand axes, sometimes also known as celts. At this time in ancient Laos, there were specialized stone manufacturing workshop centers, near settlements, where items like these have been found in large quantities alongside stone flakes and other detritus of stone tool production. Size of largest: 4.5" L x 1.35" W x 0.65" H (11.4 cm x 3.4 cm x 1.7 cm)
