AMERICAN, POSSIBLY PENNSYLVANIA, NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER, silk on linen, simple vertical marking format with alphabet rows segmented by horizontal bands of decorative stitching, signed "Mary W. Fricker / 1825". Housed under glass in a modern frame. 1825. 16 3/4" x 7 3/4" object, 18 3/4" x 10 1/4" OA.
Overall moderate to heavy toning, fading, and areas of discoloration. Some staining and losses to threads and ground. Not examined out of frame.
