fourth quarter 19th century, attributed to Daniel Pabst, Philadelphia, the paneled backboard joined to spindled side galleries, on a case with a glazed slant-lid door opening to reveal an angled display surface in period crimson silk velvet, over a pair of beveled glazed doors flanked by spiral-reeded columns with Corinthian capitals and a carved owl perched atop each, an interior lock marked "Pat. Sep. 29, 74".
