Chinese Cinnabar and Black Lacquer Table Screen with Hardwood Stand

20th century, the screen of circular form, decorated to one side with two ladies at leisure in a garden setting, and to the other with a representation of the emperor on horseback with two attendants, each side with an apocryphal six-character Xuande mark within a rectangular reserve, all within geometric scroll borders, together with a carved and pierced hardwood stand.

There are numerous chips and repairs to the Greek-key border on both sides of the plaque. A 2" section is missing along the bottom edge of one side. The stand is sturdy with shrinkage to the joints from age.
