Manuscript on embossed paper signed on January 26, 1821 in Norwich, CT.
The commendation note and poem awarded to Ms. Strong by her mother for good school grades and behavior.
Original period document.
Daughters of Norwich merchant Joseph H. Strong & Lucretia Fanning. Elisabeth (Strong) Stedman (1813-1852), Cornelia Strong (1810-1859) who still lived with parents in 1840. Mary Ann Strong (1806-1840) future wife of Oliver Ellsworth Huntington.
Excellent condition, no stains, damages or foxing. Light age toning.
