Description

This is an original early circa 1920’s Arcade Toy Company cast iron iconic Yellow Cab No. 3 Bank. The Arcade Toy Company was founded in 1868 as the Novelty Iron Works. Novelty Iron Works was discontinued and reorganized as the Arcade Manufacturing Company by Albert Baumgarten, Cyrus Tobias and Edward H. Morgan. The Yellow Cab line from Aracade is one of the most iconic early 1920’s toys. The Yellow Cap was offered in a few variations such as the flat top bank, flat top cab, double stripe yellow cab No. 3 taxi, and the yellow taxi bank. This piece shows a cast iron construction with crisp professionally restored paint in black and yellow with white rimmed wheels. The toy is marked on the inside, "ARCADE". The toy shows good condition. Measures overall 8”L. Arcade Yellow Taxi’s have sold at auction in excess of $3,000.
