Albert Wasserman Original Painting framed artwork Albert Wasserman, painter, designer, August 23rd 1920 to January 3rd 1917. Graduated from Evander Childs High School, Bronx, NY. He attended the National Academy of Design and studied with Sidney E. Dickenson and Ivan Olinsky. He also studied at the Art Student’s League with Charles S. Chapman until he was drafted into the Army during WWII. He won a Pulitzer Art Scholarship in 1940 and he won the Obrig Prize in 1941. He was an incredibly prolific artist and considered himself a Realist – impressionist; painting people, portraits and the life around himself. Most of his work is in oil or watercolor and is done from life. He was a member of the Salmagundi Club where he won numerous prizes.
