Description
A Chinese Sino-Tibetan Gilt Bronze Lama Buddha Figure of Taglung Tangpa Chenpo, Tashi Pal (1142-1210): founder of Taglung Monastery (1180), central Tibet - north of Lhasa, the head monastery for the Taglungpa sub-lineage of the Kagyu School.
Handsome with black hair, a slight moustache and goatee, he sits facing forward with the natural painted athe eyes slightly lowered. The two hands perform the mudra (gesture) of teaching, held at the heart with the 8 fingers splayed in similitude of an 8 spoked Dharma wheel. Wearing the robes of a monk and an outer meditation cloak, the two legs are crossed in vajra posture, right over left, upon a double lotus throne. The underside with incised quatrefoil flori-form petal visvavajra mark surrounding the centralized DaiJi.

EXCELLENT condition, with normal anomalies in nature, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent. Surface traced wear and or declined to gilding. Normal, considering ages and wears.
