Description
Circa 1700-20, American in Scandinavian style with pinned construction with nicely shaped yoke backs with lovely shell carved crests and baluster form curved splat, front apron with lovely shell carving, cabriole legs with slipper feet and nicely turned "H" stretchers, 19 x 16 x 41" high, seats at 19 1/2", in old, possible original varnish finish. From the estate of Edward Hall and comes with a letter from The Smithsonian Institution making the American attribution, dated in the 1948.
Condition
Slip seats replaced with fixed upholstery in nice crewel work, corner blocks replaces, one splat has an old repair, and other minor repairs, over-all Very Good.
