A Russian silver gilt and plique-a-jour enamel cigarette case, Ivan Khlebnikov, Moscow, circa 1895. Of rounded rectangular form, decorated in the Russian Revival Style, the cover pierced and enameled in plique-a-jour in shades of lemon yellow, strawberry red, royal blue, and turquoise, the pattern recalling the ornately carved detail of Russian folk architecture, including cockerel heads and floral garlands, reserved with a panel engraved with a Cyrillic monogram, the back similarly but more profusely decorated, with gilded silver pushpiece. Struck Khlebnikov in Cyrillic capitals and with 84 standard. 1308-007. Dimensions: 3 1/2 x 2 3/8 in. (9 x 6 cm). Gross weight 141 grams.

Overall very good condition, some small wear consistent with age and use.
