Profusely illustrated catalogue to 1968 exhibition on the intersection of art and technology, assembled by Hulten. Nearly 250 illustrations, many full page, in original steel-hinged spine and colorful stamped tin covers.
Pontus Hulten, the founding director of several museums, including the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, was famous for his breadth of vision and for fomenting sprawling exhibitions that were extraordinary in scope.
The 1968 MoMA exhibit and catalogue brought together work by artists of every ism— Futurists, Dadaists, Constructivists, Surrealists, Bauhausers— lovers, haters, humorists, despairers and affirmers of the machine.
