Description
STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED HUDSON RIVER NEW YORK CERAMIC PLATES, LOT OF FOUR, all with brown/sepia prints, having designs from the "Picturesque Views" series of the Hudson River, comprising "Fort Montgomery", "Nr Fort Miller", "West Point", and "near Sandy Hill" as marked on bases. One impressed "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE", one with impressed starburst, otherwise unmarked. Ralph and James Clews, Staffordshire, England. Second quarter 19th century. 5 7/8" to 9" D.
Light radial hairline that does not full go through to the front on one as well as a small flake on the rim of the same, one with minute flake on front rim, otherwise undamaged with some staining.
