STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED AMERICAN VIEW CERAMIC SAUCER, having a crisp blue transfer design of the State House in Hartford, Connecticut with floral border; "State House" printed in blue on base. Impressed "STEVENSON" over a ship with an additional impressed "C". Ralph Stevenson & Son, Cobridge, Staffordshire, England. Circa 1820. 5 5/8" D.
Surface radial hairline on base that does not go through to the front side, otherwise undamaged.

Catalogue Note: The Transferware Collectors Club Database notes that the "brick structure was built in 1796 and used as the State House until 1879 when it was then used as Hartford City Hall."
