AMERICAN PAINT-DECORATED SEWING BOX, two-tier thread box with upper pincushion and lower drawer. Retains likely original painted decoration over a varnished surface. Second half 19th century. 7 1/4" HOA, 6 1/4" SQ (base).
Good overall visual condition with expected wear, lacking applied eyelets, base re-glued.
Provenance: Property of a Shenandoah Valley of Virginia private collector.
