MASSACHUSETTS LATE FEDERAL CARVED MAHOGANY WASHSTAND, finely dovetailed tall gallery over top with basin cut-out, front apron having double-ogee cupid's bow profile, tall slender reeded legs bearing pendant acanthus carving and joined with medial shelf fitted with single drawer. Pine and mahogany secondary woods. Old surface with warm color. Possibly the shop of Samuel McIntire or William Hook, Salem, MA. Circa 1810. 41" HOA, 19" W, 17" D.
Very good visual condition, one leg neatly repaired at drawer rail, repair to shrinkage crack in top, light crack to one side of gallery.
