Translated from the 1766 London edition, first published in Philadelphia in 1765. "Originally ascribed to Thomas Hutchins, who accompanied this expedition and executed the 2 plans; but that the book was prepared by Smith, from Bouquet's notes, has been established. This campaign gave Pontiac's conspiracy its death-blow" (Howes). Includes a map of the Ohio region, with the positions of Indian villages, a plan of the battle of Bushy Run, a map of the route of Bouquet's march across the territory in 1764, etc. Howes S693; Sabin 84647.
