The first image is an archetypal western saloon, with two gentlemen standing behind the bar. The man at left, with wavy dark hair and a thick mustache, matches descriptions of William T. McNelly, who was mustered out of the 8th Cavalry in 1875 and settled in Globe, Arizona, where he opened his eponymous watering hole. The other man is older, with white hair and a beard. There are ink notations on the back, "McNelly Saloon" and "W.T. McNelly, Globe City."

The second image is a sepia-tone photograph with vivid detail of the smelting operations, worker's residences, mine entrances, and more. Globe began as a silver mining town, but when the silver ran out, copper became king.

First image with some fading and staining, the back of the mount foxed with stains; good condition. Second with minor toning to image, a few slight scratches; very good.
