Description

ODD FELLOWS PRESENTATION DRESS CANE/WALKING STICK, robust gold-filled stepped handle bearing inscription for "A. Harper / Dec. 29, '08 / Born Dec. 29, 1833" below typical lodge iconography, marked "I + 226", thick tapered cylindrical ebony shaft fitted with metal ferrule. Together with a later cane/walking stick with plain wooden shaft and cut-overlay handle. Two pieces total. Circa 1908 and later. 34" to 34 1/2" L.
Each in excellent overall condition with very minor wear. Small dent to handle on Odd Fellows example.
Provenance: From the private collection of Janet J. Gough and C. Richmond Gough, Jr., Newburg, MD.
