Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, Pihuamo style, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A standing female figure with a tranquil visage comprised of closed, coffee-bean shaped eyes, an aquiline nose, and a closed mouth - appearing as if she is in a trancelike state. She wears a single-shouldered garment, a cap like headdress/coiffure, and round openwork earspools. Traces of white pigment remain here and there on the surface. A wonderful example!
