Born in a small town near Venice, Bosa began his art studies at the Academia delle Belle Arti. He emigrated to Canada in the 1920s and was studying at the Arts Students League in NYC by the end of the decade. He saw much success following WWII with commissions from Pepsi-Cola, Grumbacher Paints, and Life Magazine. He was also a highly regarded teacher, holding positions at the Art Students League, the Cape Ann School in Rockport, MA, and at the Cleveland Institute of Art.
In 1948, his work was exhibited alongside those by John Sloan, Edward Hopper, and other urban painters at the Whitney Museum. And in 2005, the James A. Michener Art Museum near his adopted Bucks County, PA home, mounted an exhibition of his work.
