Royal Scaraboid in the form of a Cowrie Shell, Dynasty 18, c. 1450 B.C., turquoise glazed steatite, the base is inscribed with the prenomen of Thutmosis III, Menkheperre and two cobras. The Cowrie Shell was a potent woman's protective amulet and symbol. {QZEIG5213} (WK)
