A CHINESE QIANGIN AND TIANQI STYLE RED LACQUER PAINTED DOUBLE HAPPINESS CHARACTER FORM SWEET MEATS BOX, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, PROBABLY LATE QING DYNASTY, the lidded box in the form of a double happiness character painted with repeating gilt characters within incised and painted profuse scrolling tendrils, flower blooms, bats and strawberries, opening to a black lacquered interior. Height: 5 3/8" Diameter: 20 3/8"
Condition
There are some areas with apparent inpainting repairs, mild chips and losses, but otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
