A HISTORICAL MEXICAN DOCUMENT, JULY 6, 1866, A SIGNED ANNOUNCEMENT FROM EMPEROR OF MEXICO MAXIMILIAN I AND EMPRESS CARLOTA, PALACE OF MEXICO, MEXICO CITY, ink on paper, bearing the heading Maximiliano y Carlota, Emperadores de México, a document expressing proof of bestowing the Imperial Order of Saint Charles to Da. Beatriz Felia de Grosso, with two embossed seals; one is Emperor Maximilian I's seal and the other the "Gran Cancilleri di la Orden Imperial di San Carlo," the signatures of Maximilian I and Empress Carlota appear at center, and a signature of the Secretary of the Grand Chancellory, José H. Gonzalez, in the lower left corner, marked No. 141, together with two post cards, one of Emperor Maximilian I and his wife Empress Carlota, the other of Empress Carlota, and a page fragment with an affixed print portrait attributed to Empress Carlota. Some various toning noted throughout, creasing, tears at the creases, and a tear the center of Maximilian I's embossed seal, some ink bleeding through the back, otherwise in good condition.
