One of the supreme achievements of quantum physics, Schrödinger's equation mathematically treats quantum mechanical systems as wave phenomena and describes the time-evolution of a system's wave function. Schrödinger's equation is central to all applications of quantum mechanics (including those combined with special relativity). Schrödinger's equation is presented in the first four papers listed above (=one article in four parts); the last listed paper is an important statement comparing matrix mechanics to Schrödinger's own wave mechanics. Schrödinger's major contribution to Quantum Theory and the basis for his being awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1933.
