First publication of Bohr's highly important statement of the 'complementarity' principle, the first attempt to provide a philosophic basis for the new quantum physics. Positing that an object can posses seemingly contradictory properties, the complementarity principle was principally framed to explain wave-particle duality. Bohr's paper became the cornerstone of the "Copenhagen interpretation" of quantum physics.
