Description
Virginia Metalcrafters (American, founded 1890), mid 20th century. A pair of Dutch Baroque style wrought iron andirons, each mounted with a pierced and foliated gilt brass medallion decorated with tulips, on a incised leaf motif base with splayed and scrolled feet. Both marked with maker's logo, with L 1018 to side of left, and R 1018 to side of right. Approximate height 22.5", width 12.25", depth 18.5". Provenance: Property from Estate of Mr. William P. Hale (co-owner of antiques store, The Orient Express located in Buckhead with Mr. Charles L. Mann), Atlanta, Georgia.
