John Widdicomb (American, 1858-2002), mid 20th century. A mid century modern lacquered sideboard, having a rectangular form with two pairs of cabinet doors, each japanned in a figural chinoiserie garden motif with painted gilt accents, on a kang style base. Opens to reveal four upper interior drawers, two lined and compartmentalized for flatware storage, over lower shelved storage. Marked to flatware storage cloth. Approximate height 32.5", width 76.5", depth 19".
