Description
Friedman Brothers (American, founded 1903), last quarter 20th century. A Chinese Chippendale style vertically oriented chinoiserie motif giltwood wall mirror, having a central rectangular mirrored panel, flanked to either side by a C-scrolled mirrored panel, each with an acanthine frame, the top accented with an open pagoda form crest with acanthine scrolls with icicle drops, with a lower rocaille drop. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 43", width 58.5", depth 2.25".
Condition
Some wear commensurate with age and use. Top acanthus scrolls have cracked and been repaired. Some losses to gilt and wood to flowers on either side. Some cracking to frame. Phoenix with loss to tip of beak. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
