dating: 19th Century provenance: Turkey, Large, curved, singel-and false-edged blade (traces of damask?), thickened at the back, featuring on the right side a long cartouche with inscriptions in Arabic letters, together with other four smaller cartouches, featuring inscriptions in Arabic letters as well, all gilded; on the left side three similar cartouches, with inscriptions and gilding as well. Back with remains of gilding as well. Cross-shaped, brass quillon, quillons with olive-shaped ends. Grip with remains of light blue cabochons, of turquoise type. Horn grip scales. Wooden scabbard covered with red velvet. Silver chape and cap, bearing inscriptions, persons and animals in relief; two lugs. length 82 cm.
