FREE-BLOWN, GADROON-DECORATED, AND ENGRAVED FOOTED MUG / TANKARD, colorless lead glass, deep, slightly tapering form with a running dog above "EGS" monogram, surrounded by a foliate and leaf-spray wreath, applied blue rim with threading below, superimposed gather of gadrooning around the base patterned in a 20-rib mold and swirled to the right, and applied medial-rib strap handle, the whole raised on an applied sloping circular foot with rough pontil mark. United States or England. 1790-1840. 7 7/8" H, 4 3/4" D rim, 3 3/4" D foot.
